Daily Gaming: Grand Theft Auto 5 Release Date Leaked

Rockstar has officially announced a “Spring 2013″ release window for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 5 today. This comes after images containing the date were leaked earlier this morning.

We got our hands on these leaked images from various sources via IGN which Rockstar have now confirmed as containing the official release window for Grand Theft Auto 5 (below).

Daily Gaming: Angry Birds Star Wars, First Gameplay Footage

Today Rovio has released the first in-game footage of the upcoming cross-over title, Angry Birds Star Wars.

The footage shows of some iconic Star Wars characters in bird-form as well giving us a look at some of the new environments, enemies and power ups. Although Rovio has said more is on the way you can check out the first ever gameplay footage of Angry Birds Star Wars below. 

Rovio tweeted this morning about the release of the first ever gameplay footage saying, “We promised you #AngryBirdsStarWars#gameplay, so here it is!”

Daily Gaming: Skyrim Premium Edition Leaks on Amazon

Many of us expected to see a special edition Skyrim hit over the holiday season and today we get word from a new listing on Amazon that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Premium Edition is coming this December.

Bethesda didn’t even get a chance to officially announce the Premium Edition before an Amazon Germany retail listing leaked the details. The listing outlines the contents of the package and says that the package will be available on December 7, 2012 and will run you 60 euros.

Daily Gaming: Rare Atari Game Found, Current Auction Value $18,000

An extremely rare Atari game called Air Raid has been found and is currently up for auction (via Polygon).

The 1982 shoot-em, considered to be one of the rarest games for the Atari 2600, has already received a high bid of almost $18,000 on game auction site GameGavel. This copy of the game still works, check out the video and image gallery below. Developed by Men-A-Vision, Air Raid was the company’s only title and there were very few copies. The last known copy of the game sold for over $30,000 on eBay in 2010.

Daily Gaming: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Celebrates 10th Anniversary, Coming to iOS and Android

To mark the 10 year anniversary of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Rockstar has announced some special content along with a mobile re-release of the groundbreaking open world game. The special content is made up of “commemorative assets” including artwork, a special video and some of the iconic music from the game.

It has been 10 years since we graced the streets of Vice City back in 2002 and now we will be able to get our hands on some never-before-seen artwork along with a special iOS and Android re-release of the game.

In addition to the commemorative assets there will be a “limited run” of collectible promotional items as well that will be available both via the Rockstar Warehouse and through online giveaways. Daily Gaming: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Special Editions

There are so many major titles on the way in the next month or so that games like Bioshock: Infinite and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance are holding back some of there pre-release material through the holiday season. Konami decided to give us just a little today when we get word about some Revengeance special editions out of Japan.

After being overshadowed somewhat in the last little while because of the announcement of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, we finally get some more MGR. The Japanese special editions are PS3 only, hopefully we will see something for Xbox 360 users later on.

Daily Gaming: First Details on Dishonored DLC

By now many of us have already had a chance to play through Dishonored as Corvo the supernatural assassin. The Arkane developed title has received really good review scores with its choice driven gameplay mechanics and deep immersive game world.

Today Bethesda and the game’s developer Arkane have announced the first details on some of the upcoming Dishonored DLC (via Joystiq).

It looks as though we will be seeing three add-on packs at this point, first of which being Dunwall City Trials.

Daily Gaming: Halo 4 War Games Pass Announced

Halo 4 will be getting quite a lot of DLC in the months after launch and today 343 Industries has announced the War Games season pass. The War Games Pass will offer all of the downloadable content for Halo 4 at a 15% discount.

343 has also released the newest gameplay launch trailer for Halo 4, you can check out on Halo Waypoint here. Below we also have a gallery of some Halo 4 War Games concept art courtesy of All Games Beta.

The season pass will cost you $24.99 USD or 2,000 Microsoft Points. The pass will confirm your access to three War Games map packs and, as we mentioned above, will be 15% cheaper than buying the map packs separately. Daily Gaming: As 38 Studios Begins Auction, Tax Payers May Be Responsible to Pay Back Debt

After all of the hard times 38 Studios has been going through with financial issues and the closing of the company, the public auction of the studio’s assets began yesterday.Not all of the company’s assets went on auction yesterday at former 38 Studios’ headquarters in Rhode Island. According to Joystiq we are expected to get the final sales numbers later today.

A public agency called the Rhode Island Economic Development Committee loaned 38 studios upwards of $75 million at the onset of this situation.

Daily Gaming: New Subsidized Xbox Pricing, Starting at $99

Microsoft is expanding its subsidized Xbox 360 options to include more console models and retail outlets.

Although many were skeptical when the first $99 Xbox hit back in May, it must have been successful for the tech giant to end up choosing to expand the program. 

Previously we reported to you about the 4GB Xbox 360 that came available for just $99 but with a hint of caution, being that mathematically the number didn’t really end up saving you any money. Daily Gaming: God Of War: Ascension Multiplayer Beta Access Coming Early

God of War: Ascension will be opening its mulitplayer beta up early this winter.

Playstation Plus subscribers are automatically eligible to join the beta but that leaves the rest of us wondering how to get hands on with the new GOW mulitplayer.

Daily Gaming: Ubisoft Finds a Studio to Make The Assassin’s Creed Movie

We previously reported to you about rumors of an Assassin’s Creed movie and now it looks as though it is a little bit closer to actually happening.

According to Deadline Ubisoft has struck a deal with New Regency to finance and distribute the film.

With Michael Fassbender already attached to star in the film, the project is being driven by Ubisoft Motion Pictures division as the film moves into the script stage.

The long awaited Bioshock: Infinite has been hidden away for quite some time now. Lately there have been a bunch of developers from Irrational either jumping ship or parting ways, leaving most of us concerned about the fate of one of next year’s most highly anticipated titles.

Daily Gaming: Ubisoft Lets Us Watch the Beginning of Assassin’s Creed 3

Daily Gaming: Mass Effect 4 Details Emerge, Commander Shepard Officially Done

Bioware is still working on Mass Effect 3 with its biggest DLC just around the corner and they are already making plans for ME4. One thing the development studio has said is that it will certainly not be starring a character similar to Commander Shepard.

Recently some of the folks at Bioware Montreal spoke with VG247 about the future of the Mass Effect franchise and the direction it will be taking.

Daily Gaming: GOG Brings Over 50 Classic PC Games to Mac

Today the online game service GOG.com announced that it’s bringing a number of its classic PC titles over to the Mac (via 9to5). Over 50 titles will be available with about half of them releasing today. GOG has spent over a year preparing these games for Mac, including titles like Syndicate, Ultima and the Wing Commander games. Daily Gaming: Bioshock Infinite Ultimate Songbird Edition Revealed

Irrational and 2K revealed the special editions of next year’s highly anticipated Bioshock Infinite today. We get a look at what comes in the Ultimate Songbird Edition as well as the Premium version (via GI).

Bioshock Infinite is the third iteration in the Bioshock franchise, although not a direct sequel, it will be releasing February 26, 2013.

The Premium and Ultimate Songbird editions are for the most part the same except you get a Songbird statue with the latter.

Daily Gaming: Minecraft Meets Far Cry 3 in Official Mash Up

We have recently reported to you about Markus “Notch ” Persson’s new project 0x10c, but today we have news about a brand new add-on for Minecraft.

Ubisoft has announced that a Far Cry 3 and Minecraft mash up is on the way. It is not a new title, it is a Minecraft add-on that will allow miners to explore and play through a Far Cry 3 themed map among other things.

Daily Gaming: Carmageddon Available Free for One Day Only on iPhone and iPad

Back in June a development studio by the name of Stainless Games created a Kickstarter project for the reboot of Carmageddon.Having surpassed its pledge goal of $400,000 to create the reboot dubbed Carmageddon: Reincarnation, Stainless has now released the title for iPhone and iPad.

In fact the title is available for free today via Apple’s App Store (via Kotaku). Check out the Kickstarter campiagn video below as well as some screenshots from the game.

Daily Gaming: Project Eternity is Obsidian’s Record Breaking Kickstarter

Project Eternity has now broken the record on Kickstarter at $3,676,480 pledged. Project Eternity is an “isometric, party-based computer RPG” that takes place in a new and original fantasy setting developed by Obsidian Entertainment.

The previous record for crowd funded games was Tim Schafer’s Double Fine Adventure. With five hours to go (at the time of this post) in the Kickstarter campaign and well past the initial pledge goal of $1,100,000, Project Eternity will be made a reality.
