After yesterday’s big reveal of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 debut trailer, today Activision has released an image teasing the come back of the franchise’s popular zombies game mode. Early this morning on the Call of Duty Twitter page, the image was posted depicting a woman wielding a shotgun over her shoulder, a skull in her hand, and the following caption :
“Zombies are coming…… Where’s your shotgun?”

Blizzard is showcasing a brand new class this week for Diablo 3. On the lead up to the release of the game, Blizzard has been incrementally releasing trailers for each of the game’s classes. Along with a brand new trailer (below), the Wizard class has a full overview as well as a short story to detail its lineage and background in the Diablo world.
With an incredible display of magic we see the female wizard take on hordes of demons in the new class trailer. The Wizard class is described as “renegade spellcasters who use their bodies as vessels for arcane energy, forsaking the more careful path favored by other magic users.” The Wizard class will allow players the control over “all manner of forces to disintegrate, burn, and freeze their foes,” adding that they can control time and space as well as “teleport, create powerful illusions, and deflect oncoming attacks.”

Now finally confirmed, the next iteration in the Call of Duty franchise will be Black Ops 2 and today we get a look at the debut trailer. Treyarch’s highly anticipated sequel to Call of Duty Black Ops will be set in the near future and will introduce a whole score of new weapons and artillery options. The year 2025 will see the introduction of things like flying drones, walking tanks and what is being referred to as never-before-seen methods to mow down your enemies on the battlefield.

This morning the official UK Call of Duty: Black Ops II website confirmed the new title’s release date and laid out some further details on the highly anticipated shooter. The site described the new COD game as a shooter being set in a futuristic Cold War battle of sorts. COD Black Ops II will be released on November 13, 2012 and is now available to pre-order on the UK site with many more pre-order locations to be popping up over the next few days.
A new trailer is present but only teased, without allowing the user to actually view it just yet. The trailer link leads to a “dead” thumbnail which appears to be a placeholder for the upcoming trailer itself. One such thumbnail has the words “Los Angeles” written across an image of a helicopter racing above a freeway with high rise buildings burning in the distance. Yesterday it was the news of a new live action Halo series coming this fall, and like Dragon Age and Assassins Creed before it, Ghost Recon Future Soldier will also be receiving the same treatment. The film, titled Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Alpha, will be a 25 minute prequel to the upcoming game.
The short film features an award winning list of filmmakers. The film is directed by Academy Award winning directors Hervé de Crécy and François Alaux, and the script is penned by the Oscar nominee Tim Sexton as well as George Pruss. Last but not least the film will feature cinematography by Trant Opaloch of District 9 fame.

Launching this Fall, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn is a live-action online series that is based on and set in the Halo world. The launch of the online series will be in perfect timing to align itself in the same window as the November 6 release date of the game.
Forward Unto Dawn will be a big step for Microsoft. It told Variety that this will be the largest investment the company has ever made in an endeavour of this nature. After the news regarding God of War: Ascensions leaked earlier this month many wondered how long it would take Sony to reveal the first bits of details on the new GOW. Wide speculation is growing regarding what’s coming next for Skyrim after hints at some of the title’s upcoming DLC may have just been revealed. It looks like references to Snow Elves, crossbows and more have been buried inside and skillfully dug up from the latest patch for the Bethesda RPG.
According to a report from Kotaku (via RipTen) users over at the Bethsoft forum have discovered files within the games latest patch that point to animations of a Snow Elf. Also found were hints pertaining to animations for a crossbow.

An announcement from Valve today puts a release date on the next add-on for Portal 2. The new add-on will allow players to make there own test chambers with the use of an in game-editor. The add-on is called the the Perpetual Testing Initiative and it will be available to Mac and PC users through Steam on May 8 next month.
“The Perpetual Testing Initiative lets us create, share, and play Portal 2 levels with a simplified puzzle maker,” said Valve, continuing by saying that it allows for the “creation of mind-bending puzzles without ever leaving the game.”

With the release of Hitman: Absolution coming later this year, we are starting to see more and more info hitting the net. Today we get a couple videos showcasing new characters in the Hitman world, Benjamin Travis and his assistant Jade. Travis will effectively be taking over the role of Diana Burnwood, one of the stories long standing characters.

Super Mario Summary is the brainchild of game designer Johan Peitz as part of his entry in the 48hour game challenge, Ludum Dare. The game condenses all the levels from the original title into a single frame each. Just like the original Super Mario Bros., this version comes complete with all the regular trimmings, goombas, coins and the level ending flagpole.

A report from Eurogamer is telling us that the Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Game of the Year Edition has been announced by Sony. It will include the game itself as well as all 14 additional DLC packages that have been released since the game’s launch last November.
Eurogamer has confirmed with Sony that the GOTY Edition will be on the way to PS3′s across Europe, unfortunately there is no word as of yet for North American gamers and elsewhere.

You may be familiar with collectibles company Hot Toys for its high quality action figures and we’re happy to announce the company has recently revealed its new line of MGS toys. Based on the MGS 3 era of storyline, we see both Naked Snake and The Boss in wonderful detail from Snake’s intricate sneaking suit to The Boss’s iconic chest scars.
In fact these figures seem to bring even more life to the characters than the in-game 3D renderings we are used to. It looks like the new Mario game Nintendo teased us with earlier this year is coming to fruition in the form of New Super Mario Bros 2. The Nintendo press release confirmed the new title will be coming to the 3DS in both North America and Japan this summer.
The New Super Mario Bros. 2 will be a brand new adventure in the series continuing the tradition of side scrolling Mario games. Of course the title will feature Mario and Luigi, but it will also include “loads of other favorite characters from the popular Mario series.”

Last week rumours of a May 2012 reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 hit the internet when a retail promotional poster for the game surfaced. It has now been officially announced that we will be seeing the next iteration in the highly anticipated Activision shooter revealed during the NBA playoffs in early May.
At this time it is still unclear as to whether or not this new title will be in the Black Ops series or not. With last week’s rumoured poster and with the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise so widely speculated to be a sequel to the Treyarch developed Black Ops, that would seem most likely to be the case.

If you haven’t yet been able to get your hands on Diablo III in one of its closed rounds of beta testing, you’ll be happy to learn that Blizzard announced today an Open Beta Weekend for both Mac and PC users that will simultaneously be a server stress test to prepare for the May 15 launch date.
The open beta weekend officially kicked off at 12:01 PDT today, April 20, and will last until April 23rd at 10:00 a.m. PDT. With several rumours floating around recently, the next installment in the God of War franchise has now been revealed via an Amazon listing. God of War: Ascension will be coming to the Playstation 3 in another murderous adventure.
Along with the game listing (via Gametrailers) came a brief and bloody teaser video for the new title offering very little in the way of detail. Though brief, the 75 second trailer does seem to tell us that the story will take place before the events of God of War III, not after.
