Today the online game service GOG.com announced that it’s bringing a number of its classic PC titles over to the Mac (via 9to5). Over 50 titles will be available with about half of them releasing today. GOG has spent over a year preparing these games for Mac, including titles like Syndicate, Ultima and the Wing Commander games. Check out the GOG launch video below.
Having brought us the best in classic titles for many years now, GOG now offers, what they call, “the best games in history” from 1982 all the way until the present.
Not only does it offer classics like Simcity 2000, Crusader: No Remorse, Little Big Adventure and Theme Hospital, GOG also offers new titles like Anomaly Warzone Earth, Tiny & Big: Grandpa’s Leftovers, Botanicula, and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.
Along with the launch of the Mac versions of the games, GOG is offering a discount on many of them. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition which was released today for the Mac will be available at 25% off on GOG.com. Players can get there hands on the award winning RPG for only $29.99 for the next 48 hours. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition isn’t the only Mac title that will be offered at a discounted price.

GOG is also offering up 8 free titles along with the 50+ Mac games coming our way. In order to allow players to try out the GOG service the 8 games are available for free with no commitment other than singing up. Some of the free games include the retro point-and-click game Beneath a Steel Sky, top-down shooter Tyrian 2000, classic RPG Ultima IV, and the multiplayer FPS Warsow.
