Turn the page on another week in the chronicles of video gaming. Here’s the rundown on some of the headlines from the land of gaming this week.
Presidential Debate on XBox Live
The second presidential debate was broadcast on XBox Live again this week, as President Barack Obama (gamertag: PWNTUS) took on Governor Mitt Romney (gamertag: BinderFullofFrags).
Keeping with Microsoft’s habit of getting exclusive content first, XBox viewers were treated to additional debate questions that saw the President accuse Romney of lag switching while the Governor stated that Obama must be using a modded controller).
Achievement Unlocked: 10G – Third debate airing could be called “Spawn Points”. C’mon, that’s catchy. Get to it, Microsoft!
Ubisoft sues The Black Eyed Peas
News broke this week that Ubisoft has filed suit against music group The Black Eyed Peas for blowing off approval of a developed iOS version of The Black Eyed Peas Experience.
Further investigation revealed that the Black Eyed Peas did indeed try to call Ubisoft back, but without the studio recording equipment around nobody at Ubisoft was able to recognize their voices.
Achievement Unlocked: 20G – Further reports said Fergie looked angry over this, but that turned out to be normal
Call of Duty: Elite to go “free”
Word came out this week that the Call of Duty: Elite service will go free with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II but that map packs, the only reason anybody that paid for CoD Elite in the first place, would still cost $50 with
a “season pass” purchase.
Achivement Unlocked: 30G – Activision releases news that changes nothing for anyone.
Speaking of Call of Duty…
Despite the launch still being weeks away, the Black Ops II launch trailer hit the web this week, complete with AC/DC classic Back in Black as the commercial’s theme song.
Ironically, the commercial uses the same song that was the number one hit the last time a first-person shooter game came out without internet flame wars that found reasons to rip it apart.
Achievement Unlocked: 40G – You’re going to buy the damn game anyway and you know it. Stop frontin’
WWE ’13 video teases all-time dream match
A great deal of buzz followed a WWE ’13 promotional video this week, as current WWE Champion CM Punk sat with legend Stone Cold Steve Austin for an interview that compared the eras that each WWE Superstar® (registered trademark of WWE, all rights reserved) took part in.
The interview was intended to promote the upcoming video game but seemed to tease the idea of a “what if” match between the two, creating a situation where self-proclaimed internet experts on the wrestling business collided with self-proclaimed internet experts on video games, also known as the social media version of “don’t cross the streams”.
Achievement Unlocked: 50G – If someone asks if you’re a troll, you say YES!
Check back each Thursday to see all this kind of important stuff. That’s an order.

Logan Huffman wants to know who is posting comments about him online and asks Jace for help. Meanwhile Joe Flanigan is caught again flirting in the V costume. Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.
Jace has decided to take advantage of his co-hosting duties at the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire celebration, by showing his new music video to the thousands of EverQuest players in attendance, much to the dismay of the crowd. That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
