God of War: Ascension will be opening its mulitplayer beta up early this winter.
Playstation Plus subscribers are automatically eligible to join the beta but that leaves the rest of us wondering how to get hands on with the new GOW mulitplayer.
It looks as though instead of just waiting, non-subscribers will able to get access through a new GOW mini game (via GT). New trailer below.
Available through GodofWar.com, the social mini game is the only other way to get in on the beta. The mini game is called the Rise of The Warrior where you will be an anonymous warrior aligned with either the Trojans or the Spartans in a web comic style puzzle game. As you can see in the image below (which comes from “Rise of The Warrior”) players will have to find clues in the images and in turn follow links and what not.

The game, and how it relates to early access to the beta, is an XP driven title where you will be earning collective experience points for your faction. The first of the factions, Spartans or Trojans, to hit 2,000,000 XP will be awarded early access to the multiplayer beta among other things. On top of early access the winning faction will also get one free month of Playstation Plus as well as collectibles, status buffs and in-game perks.

According to the official Playstation blog the mulitplayer beta that will start this winter will be offering players an entirely new experience from what we have seen before. Sony says the game has come quite a long way since players went hands on at E3 and PAX as well as that the beta will offer different maps than the show floor version we have all seen thus far.
The Rise of The Warrior is now available but apparently come folks are having issues, especially accessing the site through iOS. In the mean time check out the new Zeus multiplayer trailer below:
Craig Hunter – who has written 1161 posts on The Jace Hall Show.
Craig Hunter is a main contributor for the Jace Hall Show and has been an avid gamer for over 15 years. He also freelances for a number of websites and magazines covering mobile products and emerging technologies.

Logan Huffman wants to know who is posting comments about him online and asks Jace for help. Meanwhile Joe Flanigan is caught again flirting in the V costume. Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.
Jace has decided to take advantage of his co-hosting duties at the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire celebration, by showing his new music video to the thousands of EverQuest players in attendance, much to the dismay of the crowd. That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
