Along with today’s major software announcements, Nintendo also announced that the Virtual Console will be enabled on the Wii U in the Spring. Satoru Iwata said the feature will come after a Wii U update that will improve the speed and launching applications. An additional update is planned for the summer that will improve the speed of navigating back to the Wii U menu.
The Wii U Virtual Console will launch with a large selection of NES and SNES titles, although Iwata also said that not all the games available on he Wii Virtual Console will be available right away on the Wii U (via Joystiq).

Everyone expects to hear from both Microsoft and Sony this year regarding next generation hardware.
Today a report from Engadget (via GI) has confirmed that Sony will indeed be announcing some major news come May of this year. Some speculated Sony would bring Playstation 4 to E3 and it looks as though something along these lines could be the case.

GameStop not too long ago began accepting iPhones, iPads, and iPods as trade-ins in exchange for store credit. However, our friends over at 9to5Mac have learned that dealers at a Las Vegas trade show were told that the company will soon begin carrying and selling the devices new as well.
