A new iPhone app is being released, it’s pretty gross, and it still costs $20. So why would anyone actually buy it? Well, it could potentially — and we mean potentially — save your life.
Known as Uchek, this particular app was created by Myshkin Ingawale — who aimed to give everyday, health-conscious citizens a way to conveniently analyze themselves for up to 25 different health conditions. He’s also CEO of Biosense, a company aimed at bringing more intricate disease-detecting technology to the poorer nations of Africa. While Sony’s handheld may not have the library of games many of us hoped it would, the Vita does offer an excellent mobile gaming experience. One thing we didn’t know was that regardless of how much storage space you have left on the device, it can only handle 100 apps at once.
The machine will offer up an error message asking the user to delete an application in order to add a new one.
This report comes from NeoGaf user Shagg_187, who provided the photo below of the Vita message early this morning. He claims his 32GB card had plenty of space left on it.

IO Interactive, the creators of the Hitman franchise, have stirred up some controversy today with its recent Facebook promotion. Gamers and developers are quite displeased with the promotional app which allowed players to identify and send out an assassination message to their Facebook friends.
The app allows players to identify fiends by certain physical traits and then give a reason for them to be virtually assassinated. Agent 47 kills people for a number of different reason throughout the Hitman series, but certainly for these reasons.

If there’s two things I never would have assumed would go together, it’s ‘manga’ and ‘employment.’ (Yet I’m doing this write-up here, so it goes to show ya). Robert Walters didn’t let that hold him back: he’s regarded by companies of all kinds as a leader in the industry of employment recruitment consultancies.
Walters has wasted no time in proving he’s ahead of the game, helping design a new app called the Manga Interview App, which utilizes an anime-styled approach to helping aspiring job-seekers perfect the interview process. Continue reading “Daily Anime: New Manga iPhone App Could Land You a Job” »

We previously reported to you about Microsoft launching its new online store that will include everything from movies and TV to music and games. Unfortunately, according to Forbes, Microsoft will not be allowing any mature rated games on its new service either in North America or Europe.
Titles with a rating any higher than 16+ PEGI will not be sold or supported. In the U.S Microsoft will not be supporting any games rated mature. This is both bothersome and mildly confusing being that Microsoft not only supports and sells M-rated content through Xbox 360 it is also a major game publisher for some pretty serious violent and otherwise mature titles.

Ever take a picture that’s not random and awkward enough, and you could use some extra awkwardness and randomness? Perhaps you have a hot friend or two that eerily resembles Minmei from Robotech you’d like to snap a pic of?
Great news: an app for anime lovers looking to turn their life into a real version of their favorite manga, called Manga-Camera, has what you need. In other words, this isn’t just some half-assed Photoshop filter, the guys behind it look like they really knew their sh*t. Imagine being part of a struggling band, pretty much unknown and yet somehow making a steady break from the ranks of relative obscurity. People start hearing more of your music, you start getting some love, the gigs come more frequently…
Then imagine you’re on the Internet one day and stumble upon your band’s music, being used by one of the world’s largest conglomerates — without your permission, and thus without acknowledgement of any sort/royalties you might see from the bastards.
This is allegedly what happened to Brooklyn-based Anamanaguchi, who were in the midst of writing music for their next record Continue reading “Daily Soundcloud: Did Disney Steal Music From This Chiptunes Band?” »

On the heels of the massively successful Angry Birds, Finnish game maker Rovio is set to launch a new title. The new game will be called Amazing Alex and centers around the main character, a curious young boy named Alex.
Rovio CEO Mikael Hed told a Yle’s breakfast television show this morning about the new game and that it should be available for release in roughly two months time. Hed went on to say the game features a bit of an educational element to it based on the main character’s curiosity to build things. Finally (as if having your brains/intestines eaten wasn’t enough) some extra incentive to run from zombies. Sparked by the idea of one man’s relentless Kickstarter project, Zombies, Run! is a new self-funded iPhone app that’s taking the Internet by storm.
According to geek.com, zR! is a mashup between games like Left 4 Dead and Resident Evil, and simultaneously works as both hypothetical survival horror game and a way to get a serious workout.
The phone is a zombie-locator, which allows you to essentially monitor your own position vs. the zombies as they creep into your city and allow you to run like hell from them. Continue reading “‘Zombies, Run!’ iPhone App Helps You Escape Zombies (and Calories)” »

Originally released in 2007, Portal has made its way to just about every platform but has yet to make its way onto the big mobile operating systems. Luckily it will soon be coming to at least one, Android, thanks to the hard work of some third-party devs and the Unity 3D Engine.
Although this isn’t an official port (no involvement from Valve) the first-person puzzle-platformer appears to already be running in beta based on the February 11th YouTube video uploaded by AndroidPolice (below). The video shows a screen capture of version 0.004 running on an Android device, and that build is already available to download to all. If you’ve ever wanted to easily remove someone from a photo that is otherwise perfect, up until now it hasn’t been an easy task. Remove, an app from Scaldo, aims to let you snap a photo and selectively remove people and objects from the image with a tap of your finger, right on your smartphone.
The company is set to demo its Remove app, which will be available for both iOS and Android, at this year’s Mobile World Congress taking place later this month in Barcelona, Spain. With just about every politician urging Apple to bring jobs back home to the U.S. amid Apple’s supply chain abroad coming under scrutiny for poor working conditions, perhaps it was about time someone mentioned the “App Economy”.
According to a new study, apps for mobile devices have created approximately 466,000 jobs in the US since 2008.
The numbers come from a TechNet sponsored study, with a little help from South Mountain Economics, which noted America’s App Economy “had zero jobs just Continue reading “The ‘App Economy’ Has Created Over 466,000 Jobs In The US” »
