Far Cry 3 was one of last year’s best games and is widely considered to be one of the best FPS experiences of this generation. It looks like Far Cry 3 fans might not have to wait much longer for more of it.
The Brazilian Classification ratings group has posted a curios listing for something called Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. The project is filed as a first-person-shooter coming to the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC (via Joystiq). The tip on the listing came from @lifelower, who is noted to be “typically reliable.”
Far Cry 3 lead writer Jeffrey Yohalem hinted that the game is getting some kind of continuation. Whether that continuation is coming in the form of DLC or some kind of new entry in the franchise, we don’t know at this time.
“I’m working on something now that will be surprising, I think, when it’s announced. But it definitely is a ‘strike while the iron’s hot’ thing, and we’ll see,” Yohalem told Joystiq.
It is also unclear whether or not Yohalem is referring to the same product the Brazilian Classification lists.
At this point, that is all the details we have. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot made comments about Far Cry last month when he said, “fans certainly won’t have to wait four more years for the next Far Cry.”
We also have some possible (but probably not) XBLA artwork here for Blood Dragon (via NeoGaf).
We last reported to on Far Cry 3 when Ubisoft announced plans to allow players to reset outposts and capture them again as well as the introduction the Master difficulty level.
Ubisoft has shipped 4.5 million copies of Far Cry 3 since its launch back in November (EU, AU) and December (NA) of last year.

At first listen, The Death Set doesn’t sound too far off from the dubstep/electro/hip-hop crowd, or somewhere in between.
They manage to deliver on both fronts: Aggressive, loud, literally in-your-face…So right off the bat, there’s a lot to like.
As for art, their video for their single ‘They Come to Get Us,’ off their latest album Worldwide, may very well be one of the most creative goddamn things I’ve ever seen. Continue reading “The Death Set May Have Made the Best Music Video Ever” »

You don’t have to have ever given a power point presentation to relate to the poor bastard in this video — which is, incidentally, witty, well-shot, well-acted, and edited (and as far as those annoying ‘training videos’ we’ve all had to endure upon getting hired at a new job, among the best). But the truly great thing about this short is how unflinchingly accurate it is, and how symbolic it is of every painfully awkward moment you’ve ever had in front of a crowd. Succinctly titled “Every Presentation Ever: Communication FAIL,” this video gives voice to all the subtle little ways we handle ourselves, and futilely try to avoid looking like a total n00b.

The VGA’s are once again right around the corner and Spike is asking loyal fans to vote for, among other things, the Best DLC of the year. Now, normally the Best DLC category wouldn’t be half as exciting as the main “Game of the Year” and “Best Shooter” categories, but this year Jace Hall is getting a nod, as part of a cast and crew that includes Veronica Belmont and James Urbaniak, for Fallout: New Vegas ‘Old World Blues’ DLC.
Jace appeared as the voice of the toaster in the DLC Continue reading “Fallout: New Vegas ‘Old World Blues’ Nominated For Best DLC” »

Back in 2008, Dreamworks and Steven Spielberg acquired the rights to the second-best anime/manga of all time, and many Ghost in the Shell fans around the world did their best to forget about Spielberg’s version of A.I. and focus more on Minority Report and Close Encounters and the like.
With noted Marvel producer, the ambitious Avi Arad behind it all, chances were less likely that it would be so stalled. But like a lot of other anime-to-live action projects, that’s exactly what happened – until the project resurfaced again in 2009, when it was reported that Shutter Island (YES!) and Alexander (hmmm) writer Laeta Kalogridis was on board, and that – duh – Major Kusinagi would be the main character.

No matter what anyone tells you, or what you might think, our parents ALWAYS want what’s best for us. Even when it comes to video games…
Most parents are simply not familiar with video games–in a way, they’re afraid of them. Even to this day, the fact that I write about video games is something of an oddity to my parents. It’s something that wasn’t part of their childhood, and thus, they don’t know how to react to something they don’t have any personal experience with. They think it doesn’t have a great deal of importance, maybe compared to the grand scheme of things, video games don’t. But that isn’t to say that they’re worthless or they don’t have tremendous value. Continue reading “5 Reasons Why Parents Don’t Understand Video Games (How You Can Change Their Minds)” »
