With it being so late in the console cycle we are seeing less and less new IP. The recently released Dishonored being one major exception.

The Arkane developed stealth action title was received quite well among both gamers and the game media. After reporting about the latest DLC coming to Dishonored, Bethesda has now said that the game did so well that we could have an ongoing franchise on our hands.

Bethesda recently told Destructoid that Dishonored is performing well above sales expectations since its release last month (via GI). While it declined to release any actual sales figures, Bethesda is definitely more than pleased with the title’s performance. The company also confirmed that “We clearly have a new franchise.” Continue reading “Dishonored Exceeds Sales Expectations, Sequel In The Works?” »

A fan community of Elder Scrolls modders have been hard at work recreating Morrowind inside of Skyrim (via GT).

The settings of the various Elder Scrolls titles expand across a massive landmass, all of which are beside each other in-game, but are separated by long stretches of time and technological advancement in society.

A group of fan volunteers have decided to bring Morrowind into Skyrim, which was initially birthed out of plans to bring Morrowind into Oblivion. The fan group now has plans to also re-create Oblivion inside of Skyrim in the future.

Bethesda has recently come out saying that it is unsure whether or not the company will be supporting the Wii U.

According to IGN (via MCV) Pete Hines, the Vice President of PR and marketing at Bethesda, said that normally the company releases on all platforms that will support them. At this point, Hines explains, Nintendo has yet to do so with the Wii U and whether or not the “Wii U does down the road is TBD.”

Although Bethesda, like any developer, is excited about what the next generation can hold in terms of innovation and raw power, Hines says that he disagrees with the fact that this console generation has lasted too long. Continue reading “Daily Gaming: Bethesda Might Not Support the Wii U” »
