It was almost a year ago that epic Comic Book LEGEND Stan Lee and The Jace Hall Show’s very own host, teamed up to find out who the greatest comic book fans of all-time were in the online series Fan Wars. Jace Hall, Stan Lee, and Adrianne Curry appeared live today on What’s Trending. Each discussed their early influences and indoctrination into nerd-life, and how vast the world of nerd culture has become for any fans new to the scene.
When asked what it’s like working for Stan the Man, Adrianne gushes, while surprise, surprise, Jace thinks Stan is much nicer to Adrianne than he is to him.
Stan also unveiled plans for his next endeavor with his company POW! (Purveyors of Wisdom). POW will give rise of two new superheroes, one Indian, the other Chinese. Stan says that audience participation will very much be a part of the show and more details will be released in the coming months. Some comic enthusiasts are refusing to see The Avengers this coming weekend on the grounds that the film will be making close to a billion dollars for the current actors, writers and executives on the film– but not many of the original people who helped CREATE the original characters in the first place will be reaping the profits.

NerdsRaging is celebrating its first anniversary in the biz, giving away a free trade paperback every 10 hours leading up to this Sunday. We receive the news directly from the guys themselves — on the brink of April fool’s mind you — so while the news seems almost too good to be true, the rules are simple to play along.
At 9am EST on April 1st the Nerds Raging staff will begin posting questions related to past articles and posts from NerdsRaging.com. Each question will be associated to a specific prize. A bit of somber news today — not only for comic book aficionados, but fans of arguably the greatest comic book villain of all time.
The New York Daily News has reported that Jerry Robinson, creator of The Joker (and to a somewhat lesser extent Robin), passed away yesterday afternoon in his sleep. He was 89.
Robinson met Batman creator Bob Kane in the late 1930′s and soon began working as an inker and letterer on the comic strip. In little time he was helping design and develop characters, and in Batman #1 (1940), the Joker was born. (Though Kane continues to dispute who had more to do with the character’s creation, Robinson is widely hailed as the man most behind it). Continue reading “R.I.P.
