Could we be closer than we think to finding the Klingons/Zentraedi/Engineers/whatever seemingly inevitably hostile alien life might be out there? According to SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Life) Institute scientist Seth Shostak’s recent TED speech, the answer is yes. And depending on your lifespan, not so much.
According to Shostak,there’s a few reasons which guarantee humanity finding ET somewhere out there. Because of the increase in speed and improvement of telescopic technology, as well as the vast amount of habitable real estate (in a universe hundreds of billions of light years wide, or just our own galaxy) the chances that we’ll find it are getting better and better every day.
