With DC focusing its attention on the Man of Steel and Justice League movies, auto-makers Kia and DC Entertainment have collaborated on a brand new car known as the Optima Hybrid Superman One, a self-explanatory environmentally conscious Optima, painted to look like Supes himself.
While Clark would certainly approve of its green theme, really, what’s the point IF IT CAN’T FLY? Continue reading “Kia and DC Comics Build Hybrid Superhero Car for a Good Cause” »

As Brody presumed in Mallrats, Superman could never f*k Lois Lane, for the very simple and viably scientific reason that his Kryptonian sperm would simply be too much for her fallopian tubes. It would result either in her instant annihilation, or the embryo would eventually kick straight out of her stomach.
The editors of Justice League have finally realized this, and have decided to go ahead with the already-obvious-to-the-rest-of-the-world idea of a torrid love affair between Superman and Wonder Woman. It even made the cover of Entertainment Weekly this week, with art courtesy of the mighty Jim Lee.

We know that by now most of the world has seen The Dark Knight Rises. And while audience and journalists’ reviews for the movie have, for the most part, praised it in all the right spots, they’ve also given Nolan his share of sh*t for certain shortcomings.
Some people, for instance, seem to feel that Rises had too many characters (Matthew Modine, anyone?). Some feel that Bane, who ends up as this sort of half-assed villain, could have had a little more plot time spent on him. And in a recent interview with TDKR costume designer Lindsey Hemming (via Vulture.com), a key and ‘exciting’ scene in the movie involving Bane was discussed.
The scene in question featured a key plot point which never made it to the movie. Continue reading “DAILY CINEMA: Crucial Scene Missing From ‘The Dark Knight Rises’; Avengers 2 Gets Greenlit; Ben Affleck vs. Justice League” »

The bad news: Christopher Nolan made it clear last week that he doesn’t want anything to do with the new Justice League movie. When he says he’s done with Batman, I guess the dude means it.
The good news: with ‘Super Golden Friends’, we have what may be the next best thing: superheroes with adult diapers and living in an old folks’ home!
Which is where Superman and Batman would most likely be in reality (they were created in 1932 and 1939, respectively). Animator Kevin Bapp has devised a mash-up of both one of the most epic of DC Comics franchises and The Golden Girls, an early-90s sitcom show which focused on the lives of 4 senior/elderly ladies and their wacky hijinks. The end result is pretty weird. Continue reading “‘Super Golden Friends’ Parodies Both Justice League and Classic Senior Television Show” »
