Dave Cox, the head of Konami’s UK studio spoke with CVG (via All Games Beta) about an upgraded HD Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate. Cox confirmed with CVG in London this morning that the studio would “absolutely” consider bringing an HD version of the game to consoles.
Cox goes on to say that the development team at Mercury Steam created the game in full HD initially so the assets are already available.

Mercury Steam, the team behind Castlevania: Lords of Shadows, is ready to leave the franchise to work on something else entirely. Konami EU Head of Development, Dave Cox tells VG247 (via Joystiq) that the team responsible for the upcoming Castlevania titles, Mirror of Fate and Lords of Shadows 2, is interested in passing the franchise off to a new dev team in order to focus on different future projects.
“Well, I think it’s about wanting to leave a legacy,” Cox said to VG247. “And I don’t want to be in charge of a series that perhaps over a certain time is going to decline. I’d rather go out with a bang and leave that as our legacy in the Castlevania universe.”
