Just cause Developer, Avalanche Studios has just released a blurry image teasing one of their next big projects.
The image, seen below courtesy of Kotaku, was dropped by Avalanche co-founder Cristofer Sundberg and depicts what appears to be a man driving a motorcycle through a desert like area while kicking another guy off.
At this point it is well known that avalanche has three different project in the works so it is hard to say what the image represents. There is a good chance though that the image is for Just Cause 3 or something in that storyline.

The last time we told you about Google terminator-style glasses a built-in HUD and specs similar to a smartphone Google had not yet confirmed the project. Today out of nowhere previous reports from 9to5Google have been proven accurate with Google introducing the augmented reality glasses concept through a concept video and series of images.
The images above and below show what is most likely just a concept of the glasses (we’re hoping anyway), and the video what it might be like to use a pair. The device made famous by Star Trek is quickly becoming a reality. The device that allowed the fleet to explore unfamiliar areas, amongst basically everything else, would conceivably allow our modern society to do the same thing.
“The open source science tricorders that I’ve developed are very much a way to help people explore and feed their curiosity for the world,” Peter Jansen, who created and built the gadget, said.
The tricorder project is being Continue reading “New Specs Published For Real Linux-Powered STAR TREK Tricorder” »

With all of the news surrounding a new MGS in the works, we get some interesting news coming from a Hideo Kojima tweet today regarding what he calls “Project Ogre”. Although most of Project Ogre has lived in myth and theory, remaining mostly unknown, finally we get some insight into what the name itself actually means.
“Oh BTW, my Ogre Project doesn’t mean a game like a ogre nor a game create w/ soul of ogre but a game w/ the use of ogre.” – Kojima tweet
In the tweet, time stamped 7:12 PM – 23 Feb 12 and translated by Andriasang, Hideo explained that the term “ogre” is to be taken literally. The game, in Japanese “Oni Project”, will in some way, shape or form deal literally with ogre’s or oni. Pointed out by Andriasang,“oni” can be translated to not only “ogre” but a number of different things including the likes of “demon” and “devil”. With tablets quickly taking over the PC market, one 12 year old from California is thinking about the bigger picture, literally. While the average size of a tablet’s display typically ranges from 5- to 10-inches, tech fanatic James Hardman is taking the tablet game up a notch with a 17-inch Windows-powered tab he plans on manufacturing.
With a goal of $50,000 in funding, Hardman turned to Kickstarter to realize his dreams and posted his plans for the 17-inch super tablet. Oh, and according to him, the device is 5.1x as powerful as iPad 2.
James spoke to Mashable regarding his overarching motivation behind the project.
“I personally love bigger screens,” says the 12 year old Hardman, “And I know other people did, too. I looked everywhere and nobody had anything Continue reading “12-Year Old Building 17-inch Windows Tablet On Kickstarter” »

A new project/promotion available through online coding tutorial site Codecademy will let you learn how to code through interactive tutorials once a week throughout 2012. As Slate notes- the ones who turned us on to the site- “learning to code is becoming as important as knowing how to read and write”.
Founders of the Codecademy (pronounced Code Academy) startup Ryan Bubinski and Zach Sims are urging beginner coders to sign up for a new course that provides one lesson a week over the next year as their New Year’s resolution. Each lesson takes about five hours to complete, so you can get each one done spending around an hour a day during the work week.
According the website Codecademy has up for the project, around 149,183 people have signed up for “Code Year”. The lessons appear to be completely free and the rest of Codecademy’s JavaScript courses are as well. Lack of responsiveness when typing on the iPad’s onscreen keyboard has always been a strong argument for those who think it can never truly replace the efficiency of a laptop’s full-size, physical keyboard. That’s precisely the inspiration behind a new product called TouchFire that recently received over $200,000 in funding on Kickstarter.
The TouchFire is an ultra-thin silicon keyboard overlay that is meant to provide your iPad with all the benefits of a real, physical keyboard. It attaches via iPad 2′s magnets and also clips onto a Smart Cover with a small clip. The best part is the accessory has been engineered specifically to allow you to rest your fingers on the keys without accidental presses on the touch screen, but also still lets you swipe horizontally.
