Say what you will about Kevin Smith’s past few movies — Cop-Out got a sh*tstorm of hate from critics and longtime KS fans alike, while Red State got both equal amounts of love and loathing — he’s been pretty stalwart about refusing to take himself seriously. I met him at a smodcast a couple years back, and it’s rare that a guy will take time to hang out and shoot the shit with pretty much everyone waiting to meet him, not to mention really put his money where his mouth is and devote himself to comic book fandom.

Slashfilm is reporting that Smith’s jumping into the surging reality show TV market and maybe even do something good with it: AMC’s ‘Comic Book Men’ will take an in-depth look at the different characters who frequent Smith’s Jersey comic book shop.
