Developer Supergiant Games has announced that its super popular action RPG Bastion will be making its way to the iPad come tomorrow, August 30. (trailer below)

Apps come out on a country by country bases so if you are in New Zealand, then you can go grab Bastion now.

The critically praised Bastion originally released in 2011 for PC and Xbox Live Arcade. You play as “The Kid” through a fantastical floating environment fighting various types of enemies on his quest to power the Bastion.

Yesterday we told you about Apple’s latest announcements of Retina display Macbook Pros, iOS 6, and new Macbook Airs, among other things. The new Retina Macbook Pros feature a 2800 x 1800 resolution display and below is a screenshot of the game running in full Retina resolution courtesy of AnandTech (via 9to5Mac).

In its analysis of the new notebook’s display, Anandtech was able to get Diablo III up and running at full 2880 x 1800 Retina resolution, but noted most apps (apart from a few that have been already updated for the displays) will not take full advantage of the display. This morning at the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco Apple announced iOS 6, brand new Macbook Pros, refreshed Macbook Airs, and details on Mountain Lion, Siri and more.

There wasn’t a lot of gaming specific news other than a brief demo of Game Center for OS X. We previously reported regarding Mountain Lion when Apple announced it some time ago, and today we get a more in depth look into what Apple is bring to the table with its new OS. Rockstar: Max Payne Lands On iOS Next Week, Android April 26th

We knew that a remake of Max Payne would be landing on mobile devices when Rockstar let it slip last year, but today the developer made things official with release dates for both the iOS and Android versions of the game.

Announced on the Rockstar Games site, “Max Payne Mobile” will be making its way to most iOS devices including iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 4, iPad 1, iPad 2 and the new iPad starting April 12th. The Android version will follow a couple weeks later on the 26th.

Apple employee shows iPad 2 in ChicagoMost of the industry expect Apple to follow its usual iPad release window and make an announcement in March with customers getting their hands on the device shortly after.
