According to respected British media outlet The Times, Sony’s Playstation 4 will cost £300 (via Eurogamer).
The Times received leaked documents suggesting “that Sony is considering pricing the new device at about £300, more than £100 cheaper than the starting cost of its predecessor,” according to The Times.
The PlayStation 3 launched in the UK for £425. So a £300 would mark a significant price drop from last cycle. £300 equals about $464, keep in mind that consoles are traditionally less expensive in the US than in Europe.

We heard rumors just under a month ago that Sony’s Playstation 4, which we can expect to see at E3 2013, will NOT have reverse compability with it’s current crop of games.
Now we receive word from NowGamer that the latest rumor is a patented magnetic contact lense that will supposedly function in a similar vein as the Kinect or Move. According to Patent Bolt, the site that first spotted the patent:
(The patent) suggests a pair of contact lenses could be used with Sony’s next-gen console to detect eye movement, gestures and even blinking to control menus, videogames and other software applications to trained actions.
There has been no confirmation or statement from Sony as of yet, but the patent at the very least does offer some intrigue into how Sony possibly views the evolution of its console. It certainly would make more sense to produce a contact lens versus a seperate piece of hardware — albeit if that contact lens diverts them into a completely different industry (the company began in 1946 as en electronics shop selling tape recorders). Back in September rumors began to surface about a third Dragon Age title in the works at BioWare. Stories of the game being tested and a survey going out to fans regarding the title of the game prompted EA to make the game official.
The rumored survey ended up containing the game’s full name, Dragon Age III: Inquisition.
At that point the press release failed to leave out one important detail though, the platform DA3 would ship on.

For everyone who thought they would be getting their hands on a new Steam console, sorry, according to Valve it wont be happening anytime soon.
Rumours have been swirling around the internet as of late regarding what was being dubbed the “Steam Box”, potentially linking Valve to the home hardware console market. Valve has now officially made a statement saying that it does intend to get into the hardware business in the near future.
Valve is, although, hard at work on Steam Continue reading “Valve Shoots Down Steam Box Console Rumors” »

According to the often reliable Asian trade publication DigiTimes, who relays information from various sources within the asian supply chain, Apple is prepping two new iPads for 2012. This probably isn’t reason to hold off from buying an iPad 2 as the most interesting upgrade will be coming in the later half of next year, but it does back up previous rumors of a new iPad in the 7-inch category…
The report says Apple is “likely to launch” a 7.85-inch iPad before the begininning of Q4 2012. In addition to that yet to be unveiled device, they also say a “new iPad” (fingers crossed for a full fledged iPad 3 upgrade) sometime towards the end of Q1. That puts us in a March timeframe for the iPad 3, which would lineup with previous releases and current rumors from other sources.
When it comes to the 7.85-inch model, which we’ve also heard various rumors about in the past, DigiTimes’ sources say Apple is particularly looking at taking on Amazon’s Kindle Fire and similar devices that might be stealing potential new iPad customers: Continue reading “New iPads: Apple to launch 7.85-inch iPad and iPad 3 in 2012” »

The mostly accurate Digitimes is reporting (citing the usual supply chain sources) that Apple is in the process of prepping for a 2012 release of complete overhauls for four of their major product lines– iPhone, iPad, iMac, and MacBook Air.
When it comes to an iPhone, it’s clear most rumors and hints point towards a redesign resembling that thinner, possibly tapered, teardrop design that many were referring to as the iPhone 5 prior to the iPhone 4S launch.
However, the report doesn’t offer any details as to what the the “overhaul” may entail. Of course, there is some doubt of the 2012 release window with the iPhone 4S launching to such positive reviews and incredible Continue reading “Completely Redesigned iPhone, iPad, iMac, and MacBook Air Coming Next Year?” »

If you had any doubt that Nintendo wasn’t going to jump on the iOS bandwagon, breaking everything we know the company claims to stand for, president Satoru Iwata officially shot down the rumors in a recent interview with Nikkei (translation via Andriasanq).
When asked about the possibility of Nintendo titles on smartphone platforms, Iwata responded, “This is absolutely not under consideration.” Continue reading “Nintendo: iOS games “absolutely not under consideration”” »
