Fans of The Jace Hall Show fondly remember Producer Todd Roy’s attempt to make a game trailer for Sony Online Entertainment’s epic MMOFPS PlanetSide 2. The result was…um, different, than most video game trailers, and resembled more of a used car commercial than a trailer promoting one of the most massive shooters in the history of gaming.

Front and center as the face of the trailer and the main man behind the scenes of PlanetSide 2 is Creative Director Matt Higby. We decided to get his thoughts on the interpretation of the commercial, what it takes to make it in the video game industry, and what makes PlanetSide 2 so different from the competition. For those of you who had somehow thought you’d miss the boat, and blizzard suddenly came out with a new sequel to WoW overnight (almost the exact opposite of how Blizzard operates in fact) don’t fret, the following is a spoof from none other than the folks over at “The Onion.”

And a pretty damn good one if you ask us…

The segment features the new WoW “sequel” that allows gamers to control another gamer playing World of Warcraft.

“I move the arrow key forward, which tells the character to move the arrow key forward…which in turn moves the character in the game forward….” Continue reading “World of Warcraft “Makes” Sequel, Allows You To Play As a Character Playing Warcraft” »

We’ve seen Siri taking on new personalities before– First we had the voice-control feature in iPhone 4S rapping along to Notorious B.I.G’s ‘Hypnotize’ at Music Hack Day 2011, and before that the guy’s at College Humor re-imagined Siri with a dose of reality. It was even given a new voiceover courtesy of Portal’s GLaDOS for a parody of Apple’s launch ad for the feature. However, today’s re-imagining takes a different approach by turning Siri into the murderer in a spoof-horror, short-film entitled “Psycho Siri”.

Uploaded Andrew McMurry and crew on the Andrewmfilms YouTube channel, the film starts off with a man trying out a new iPhone 4S he happened to recently find and before he knows it his friend is dead and he’s running for his life from an AK-47, grenade wielding iPhone 4S with Siri calling the shots. Amateur hip-hop artist Blake S. Campbell took to the Internet to ‘vent’ his feelings about Casey Anthony being let off the hook – what many people in the U.S. are calling a travesty of our social justice system.

Parodying Fabolous’ “You Be Killin’ Em’, Campbell does a pretty good job of calling out Ms. Anthony on what most Americans believe was a definite guilty verdict, short of finding her at the side of her daughter’s corpse.  He’s put a pretty clever little rhyme together that’s earned him a bit of a mixed response.

I gotta ask you somethin’ Casey, your daughter’s dead/you don’t seem all too bothered, hit the club instead/now that’s a bad choice, you shoulda stayed in/we been lookin’ for the baby, where the hell you been?

Of course, responses have been mixed, unlike towards Anthony herself:

“lol white boy is iight,” remarked one user on World Wide Hip Hop, where the video had been posted to.. .’. new york stnad up (sic) .. casey really do needs her a$$ whipped”

or this one:

“we need more white b****es to kill more of their kids. then O.J. to kill this b****”

What do you think…too soon?
