Most of us have heard variations of the story of how Apple was founded. No matter which version you’ve heard, it usually consists of Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, a garage and funding from then Atari employee Ronald Wayne on April 1st, 1976.
Wayne famously sold his share of the company just twelve days after authoring the original contracts and documents that founded what was known then as Apple Computer Co.
Today, at a Sotheby’s auction in New York, the documents were sold to a phone bidder for approximately $1.6 million USD. The documents were sold by collector Wade Saadi, who reportedly purchased them from Wayne in 1994 for “several thousand dollars”.
