With DC focusing its attention on the Man of Steel and Justice League movies, auto-makers Kia and DC Entertainment have collaborated on a brand new car known as the  Optima Hybrid Superman One, a self-explanatory environmentally conscious Optima, painted to look like Supes himself.

While Clark would certainly approve of its green theme, really, what’s the point IF IT CAN’T FLY? Continue reading “Kia and DC Comics Build Hybrid Superhero Car for a Good Cause” »

While The Dark Knight Rises is sure to earn DC a whole lot of bank, they’re already scrambling to assemble their own team of creative geniuses who can do for The Justice League what Marvel did for The Avengers. Yes, the mere idea of a JL feature-length is pretty kick-ass. That said, the poor souls truly have their work cut out for them.

In the meantime, why not just make the rest of us happy, trim a few bucks off the budget, and make a Superman/Batman crossover? Lego was creative enough to come up with one, and will be releasing Lego: Piece of the Resistance, in theaters. A brand entry into the DC Comic’s video game repertoire was announced today by Warner Bros. Interactive. NetherRealm Studios will be “creating an all-new franchise with incredible battles set” in the DC Comics universe entitled Injustice: Gods Among Us.

The Mortal Kombat devs will be focusing solely on characters from the DC Comics universe in a brand new fighting game that will allow players to choose between good and evil. The game will bring players to fight as both villain and hero in a brand new re-imagined DC world. A new world, the developers say, “where the lines between good and evil are blurred.”

“What if our greatest heroes…became our greatest threat”

There’s no real way to summarize The Death and Return of Superman. One of the most pivotal moments in the history of superhero comics, it’s accurately summarized here by Max Landis, son of John and best suited to highlight what became a breaking point for comic book fans (i.e., sh*t like The Death and Return of Superman.)

If you didn’t know, Superman bit it about 20 years ago when got his ass kicked by Continue reading “The Death and Return of Superman: An In-Depth Look at One of Comics’ Dumbest Moments” »

lego tvIf there’s a word to describe this creation it would be somewhere in between epic and amazing. A TV built entirely out of legos featuring an animated superman (with scrolling background) flying through Metropolis…sort of.

The user “TooMuchCaffeine” who created it said that the idea has been:

“Kicking about in my head for months and the arrival of the DC minifigs seemed liked the perfect excuse to actually attempt to build it.” Continue reading “LEGO TV Brings Animated Superman to Life” »

supeharleywedding2Jerry Seinfeld has nothing on this dude. I was gonna class it up with sleeveless tuxes for the groomsmen at my nuptials, but now that Jonathan Carroll has had his men of honor dress up as Kryptonian Councilmen, complete with billowing black capes and really professional looking embossed S’s, I’m one step behind.

It kind of helps if you look like Clark Kent (or in this case Dean Cain) but I still can’t wonder if the kids are gonna have to turn over their parents’ wedding photos every time their friends come over… Continue reading “Think You Love Superman? Not As Much As This Guy…” »

Say what you will about Zack Snyder doing the new Superman movie (will it be as dark as 300 and Watchmen?) but let us first just say this…where the hell is Superman’s codpiece? Why is he not wearing a cape? Judging by the outfits it’s clear Snyder is giving us a completely different take on the Man of Steel, and because of this, the reaction has been mixed to say the least.

Pictures of Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Superman’s old man, were leaked to the Internet faster than Supes turned the world around and saved Lois 34 years ago. Tiberius of GeekTyrant.com remarked, “It has Snyder written all over it” but “I prefer the white costume worn by Marlon Brando.”

There was also mixed reaction to leaked pictures Continue reading “‘Man of Steel’: In Nolan We Trust?” »

Yeah you heard right. DC Comics is re-booting all their  52 comic franchises. Perhaps this is a good thing, as it does seem lately that most people attend Comic-Con to see what movies are being made out of comic books, instead of what new comics are out. For a close-up at new conceptual art for em all, go here.

But with Green Lantern‘s relative box-office disappointment, despite intense hype at last year’s Comic-Con, the comic company has apparently turned back Continue reading “DC Reboots Its Entire Comic Book Catalog…Say Wha?!” »
