Straight off her presentation at the BET Awards, Nicki Minaj fought off rumors yesterday that an as-of-then anonymous Texas man had assaulted her. Minaj took to ever-reliable Twitter, insisting that
“The fact that u believe a man either slapped or punched me in the face & didn’t leave on a stretcher w/his balls hangin off?” #getaF%cknLife
Regardless of who it is, if you’re half a man you probably feel at least a little pissed when you hear about a guy beatin up a girl, especially after all that Brown/Rihanna stuff. And last night, less than 24 hours following said supposed attack, the boys at TMZ (say what you will about Harvey, he’s [usually] pretty reliable) police sources for the tabloid site verified the report: the assailant is allegedly none other than Suffree Stevens, Minaj’s assistant, who struck her square in the lip, which was cut severely and began to bleed. Ultimately Minaj decided not to press charges after cops called to the scene showed up at her hotel.
The supposed assailant, Stevens, has also used Twitter to vehemently deny it as well, strategically overcoming the jagoff image he’s been given.
“The general public are some stupid muthafuckas! Y’all dicks believe anything on a website…It’s really a shame…Wut up tho Dallas?“

Rihanna took to her Twitter account over the weekend, upset over having to cancel a concert due to pyrotechnic problems. Stopping in Dallas for a Friday night performance on her new Loud tour, the R&B sensation was abruptly hustled off stage when a small spark quickly grew out of control, igniting a blaze in the ceiling rafters.
During a performance of “California King Bed”, the small fireball sent sparks into the crowd and forced the American Airlines Center to evacuate all patrons. Unfortunately Rihanna only made it through a small portion of her setlist, later apologizing to fans and make it up Continue reading “Light This Venue: Fire Blows Rihanna’s Friday Show” »
