If you were one of roughly seventeen people tuning into (living?) in The Great Falls, Montana today, you were treated to a bit of an unusual message on your TV.
The above video depicts a couple of pranksters (we hope) taking over the emergency broadcast system and declaring “residents have risen from the dead and are attacking the living. Do not attempt to approach or apprehend these bodies as they are considered extremely dangerous.” Continue reading “Pranksters Take Over Emergency Broadcast System, Declare Zombie Apocalypse in Montana” »

In case you haven’t noticed or have yet to realize you are writing the wrong year on your checks yet, 2013 is finally in full swing, and that means the video game world is, too.
Here’s your weekly required allowance of snarky reaction to video game headlines.
The Price is Right… on the cover
Baseball, minus the $9 hot dogs and crotch scratching, is still taking the mound for 2K Sports with the surprise announcement of MLB2K13, a game title that would also probably make a decent e-mail password. Nobody ever though Shaquille O’Neal would get another chance at starring in a video game–well–we were wrong.
NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal once again returns to video games with the new side-scrolling zombie game ShaqDown (via Kotaku). The game is a mobile title set in a post apocalyptic world where mankind’s only hope is a basketball throwing zombie killer named Shaq. Some of you may remember Shaq’s other game, the 16-bit 1994 classic, and notoriously poorly rated, Shaq Fu. Check out the image gallery below.

Fresh off a number of recent nerdcore video game crossover hits, hip hop nerdcore act Broken Pixels have released their latest music video/rap, a tribute to the undead dames of Resident Evil. Just because you can’t have enough hot zombie chicks running around (even if these are really pushing it).
“Racc CIty Chicks” begins with a bar, a few guys and some (sorta) witty banter, before all hell breaks loose. Continue reading “Daily Nerdcore: For Broken Pixels, Raccoon City Chicks Are Still Worth Banging” »

Finally (as if having your brains/intestines eaten wasn’t enough) some extra incentive to run from zombies. Sparked by the idea of one man’s relentless Kickstarter project, Zombies, Run! is a new self-funded iPhone app that’s taking the Internet by storm.
According to geek.com, zR! is a mashup between games like Left 4 Dead and Resident Evil, and simultaneously works as both hypothetical survival horror game and a way to get a serious workout.
The phone is a zombie-locator, which allows you to essentially monitor your own position vs. the zombies as they creep into your city and allow you to run like hell from them. Continue reading “‘Zombies, Run!’ iPhone App Helps You Escape Zombies (and Calories)” »

…and it will be called, of course, The MC Chris Cartoon.
The trailer is below, and it features some very promising plot developments indeed: giant robots annihilating a metropolis, an impending apocalypse for all record stores, and MC Chris as a kid (or a midget) flying above via jet pack and destroying evil.
Assembled by legendary animation studio titmouse, the same insanely talented brains behind Adult Swim’s Metalocalypse and Superjail, the cartoon will focus on its titular star zooming overhead whilst defeating brain-hungry zombies. Damn if I wouldn’t love to be in there working on it with ‘em — a few guys and gals I’ve met who work there say it’s pretty much the best place to wok ever. I swear to god this is the greatest thing to ever come out of the city of Baltimore. You know. Besides “The Wire.”
Are you bored of just normal 5K marathons? Tired of being just an average superhuman who can run long distances? Maybe you need a little challenge…like, for instance, an army of the living dead hunting you down as you marathon. Continue reading “Go HARD: Outrun ZOMBIES in 5K Marathon” »
